CHEESE REMAINS THE CHAMPION

The immensely popular SA Cheese Festival brings a rich variety of cheese together under one roof from 26 to 28 April at Sandringham outside Stellenbosch. Cheese elevates any humble snack to a divine gourmet experience! With a melt-in-the-mouth Camembert, a strong Blue and a goat's milk cheese bursting with flavour, you're set for a feast.

A brand new Friday night programme is set to provide visitors with an extended cheese experience. Exchange your office suit for party wear and join cheese lovers after work for a scrumptious moonlight picnic with your just-bought goodies and enjoy it to the rhythm of well known musicians.

The Cheese Festival annually brings several artisan cheese makers from around the country to Sandringham. Meet these passionate cheese masters that daily create small amounts of cheese with the utmost patience and care. Also taste the variety on offer by South Africa's larger cheeseries. Indulge in the exciting range of sweet temptations and other sumptuous products brought to the festival by handpicked producers.

In the Checkers Theatre, with Nataniël at the stern, as well as in the Food Theatre, various celebrated foodies will entertain you with their daring versions of cooking with cheese. Hours of fun and games await the little ones with jumping castles, stokbrood making and much more. The Milk Factory with its cows, goats and sheep will draw smiles from young and old.

Purchase your R115 ticket from your nearest Computicket or Checkers (no tickets at the gates). Senior citizens pay R90 and children 13 years and younger enter free. Opening times for Friday is from 10:00 to 22:00, on Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00 and Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00. Wine tasting glasses will be on sale at R15 at the gates.
